Biography
A member of the Navarrese royal family, Elvira married Rodrigo Gómez, a Castilian nobleman with landholdings in Asturias who was made a count. By 1141, he was acting as regent of the kingdom of Castile. He died in 1153. Elvira confirmed a grant had made to the monastery of Oña before her departure for Jerusalem in 1161.
