Charter of Geoffrey Fulcard of Loudun

Year

Not Given

Summary

Geoffrey Fulcard, leaving on the expedition to Jerusalem, gives the churches of Verneuil to the nuns of Ronceray abbey, for the benefit of his soul. He makes this gift just as his father had done, but with some (unnamed) augmentations, excepting control of the town (burgum) of Verneuil, in order to provide defense. He orders that, if he should not return, his mother Ameline, his brother Aimery, and Aimery his cousin, along with his other relatives should abide by the terms of this agreement.

Text
