Summary

Undertaking the journey to Jerusalem with Louis, glorious king of the Franks, Thierry of Flanders concedes to Helmar, prêvot of the church of St. Martin of Ypres, all of the privileges given to that church by his predecessors. The concession is made for the benefit of his soul and the soul of his wife Sibilla.

Quoniam generationum decessione ac successione rerum gestarum memoria interit, litterarum apicibus, quibus nil memorie fidelius servit, tarn presentibus quam futuris memorandum relinquere congruum duximus, quia ego Theodericus, divina permissione Flandrensium comes, cum glorioso Francorum rege Lodevico Iherosolimam profecturus, Helmaro Yprensis ecclesie venerabili preposito, quecumque predecessores eius a predecessoribus meis iura sive consuetudines, tam in scabinatu quam in ceteris, omni exactione exclusa tenuerunt, ob remedium anime mee et uxoris mee Sibilie concessi. Signum domini Milonis Morinorum episcopi S. Bernardi Clarevallensis abbatis. S. Walteri Gonella. S. Gilleberti Bergensis. S. Walteri Audomarensis castellani.
