Charter of Hugh III of Le Puisset, 1128

Year

1128

Summary

Hugh III of Le Puiset, viscount of Chartres, announces that he has given to the monks of Tiron two measurements of wine from the vineyards at Gourdez. When they hear of his death, they should thereafter celebrate his anniversary and have the wine as part of their celebration. The text of the charter recording the gift was read out and confirmed in the chamber of the bishop of Chartres and then at the castle of Le Puy, where the court was then plenary on the occasion when Viscount Hugh desired to go to Jerusalem.
