Hugh of Payns

Hugh of Payns was one of the "men" of Count Hugh of Troyes, and accompanied the count on his second independent journey to Jerusalem. He later became first master of the Order of the Temple. Hugh did not return from Jerusalem until his recruitment drive for the Damascus campaign.
