Biography

Henry de Lacy was the lord of the Honor of Pontefract and one of the tenants in chief in Yorkshire. He was an active builder of castles and benefactor of religious houses. In 1176-7, he seems to have prepared to set his affairs in order, coming to arrangement with the Exchequer for outstanding debts and confirmed grants to the Templars.
