Princely Expeditions and Participants
This page lists all expeditions led by territorial princes between the time of the First Crusade and the conquest of Jerusalem by Saladin in 1187. The left-hand column lists the territorial princes, those whose lordships streched across whole regions (often with titles such as count, duke, king, or bishop). The column on the right includes the database entries for those who are known to have accompanied the princes on their expeditions. Some participants were similarly high ranking individuals, who we might think of as being more like co-leaders. Others were their vassals, warriors, courtiers or officials who made up their household or retinue.
